Thank you for your interest in Bishop Stang High School.  We are always excited to have an opportunity to share who we are and what we have to offer students for their high school experience.  Those of us who work at or attend Bishop Stang believe it is a very special place to be for a wide-variety of reasons; from the outstanding academic programs to the large variety of vibrant co-curricular activities and competitive athletics. There is something here for everyone. 

As a college-preparatory high school, our main goal is to educate our students to succeed in their post-graduate studies.  Beyond that, we are interested in educating them to think as individuals, to stand up for what they believe is right and to have a service-oriented mind set.  We are proud that our students learn to look beyond their own lives and experience the difference they can make in the world.  Our students are also encouraged to learn to value spirituality.

Admission into Bishop Stang High School is based on a variety of aspects.  We are interested in building our community with students who will add to our school family in a positive way.  When reviewing applications, we are focused on finding motivated learners, good citizens and students with varied interests and talents. 

To determine a motivated learner we look to the student’s guidance report, where teacher comments on classroom effort and the student’s grades are indicated.  We admit students from all academic levels, providing that their current grades are acceptable (grades below C- are not considered acceptable) and we use the results from the placement exam for the purpose of placement into our four academic levels only.  Pastor and personal recommendations are used to determine the applicant’s depth of character and level of good citizenship.  The student’s application essays help us to get to know the student better, by learning where their interests lie and what they may have to offer our school community.
